INTRO:  Up for sale is our 2001 Pursuit 3070 Offshore center console.  This particular boat is no longer made and has a unique layout.  If you like to fish, we personally think you cannot find a better layout in any of the new 30 ft. Pursuits, Grady Whites, Boston Whalers, or Intrepids.

The pictures can demonstrate the layout better than I can describe it.  But the center helm provides great visibility and keeps the driver closer to the action.  As you troll, the driver can control the center rods, a great benefit.  Also, as the helm is further back than most express style boats, the ride is much better.  Just try riding in the stern of any boat versus riding just a few feet more forward, and you will see what a dramatic difference this makes.

REASON FOR SALE:  We love this boat, but we are moving up.  We will most likely be looking for something in the 40 ft range.  We feel any boat under 35 ft. does not give much advantage to this boat.  This boat has brought us to the Northeast canyons quickly, safely, and with a heavy load of fish, tackle, and passengers.

CONDITION:  Our particular boat is in excellent condition.  It is very clean and well maintained.  As an example, we don't use the built in cutting board, as we don't want to scratch it.  The boat looks and performs great.

ELECTRONICS:  Our boat also has an incredible electronics package.  You will find very few 30 ft. boats (or even many larger boats) that are as well equipped.  We have two Furuno 10.4 inch screens that are networked (NavNetV2) with a Simrad Autopilot.  We have the latest CMAP MAX electronic charts in one unit and as a backup, we have the CMAP NT charts.  The Simrad AP16 autopilot has the upgraded rate compass.  The radar array is a powerful open 4kw unit, that has no trouble picking up tuna birds.  We have an ICOM VHF and a Clarion stereo for fun.

MOTORS:  The boat is powered by twin 2001 Yamaha Saltwater Series OX66 250 hp outboards.  These motors are well known to be one of the most reliable outboards ever made.  Our motors have been fed 89 octane gas, Yamaha Ring Free, and Yamalube.  The boat is fast, topping out at 45 mph.  Currently approx. 450 hrs.

CUSTOM EQUIPMENT:  Our boat has been custom rigged to fish inshore and offshore.  The standard 3070 Pursuit comes with 8 rod holders, but our boat has 23!  Also, if you look at other 3070's you will notice the optional hardtop rocket launchers are set ridiculously high.  Our custom made rocket launchers are set more conveniently lower.  We also have 4 gold tulip rocket launchers on the leaning post, 6 Lee rod holders in the gunwhales, and 3 across the rear transom.

The outriggers are the top of the line Z30 units from Rupp.  I looked at them all, and found no outrigger easier to use than these.  Also, we have the longer 18 ft. poles.

With this setup we regularly troll for tuna with 10 rods, including large spreader bars and 2 large teasers and we rarely ever tangle!  This boat raises fish.  The massive insulated fish box in the floor has held over 6 good sized tuna (up to 50 lbs), 150 lbs. of ice, and a 4 gallon bucket of chum.  It also holds ice for long period of time without melting, unlike most factory fishboxes.
